Ithaca man accused of pushing 9-year-old in household – Finger Lakes Daily News

An Ithaca man is facing a number of charges stemming from two separate incidents, including one involving a 9-year-old child.

When Ithaca police responded to the area of Home Dairy Alley in the Commons area, they encountered the victim who told them that her ex-boyfriend, 53-year-old Hodari Martin, had allegedly used physical violence during a domestic incident to steal property. It is also alleged that Martin grabbed a nine-year-old child who tried to intervene to protect the victim and threw him to the ground, causing the child to hit his head on the ground.

Police say Martin fled the scene and about two hours later he was accused of harassing patrons at the Commons. When officers attempted to question Martin, he became physically combative and was eventually taken into custody.

Martin was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

He was later charged with robbery and two counts of attempted assault, menacing, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.

The fact that a defendant is accused of a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
