Three men have been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting in Michigan City in 2022

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) – Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Michigan City nearly two years ago.

Officers were called back to the 700 block of E. 10th Street on December 3, 2022, for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they said they found 43-year-old Randy Edwards with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

According to police, a woman was also shot. Her injuries were treated at the hospital.

According to the Michigan City Police Department, the following three men were arrested Friday in connection with the shooting:

• 36-year-old Lakeith Winters is charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and criminal recklessness. His bail is just $1 million cash.

• 42-year-old Joe Winters is charged with accessory to murder. Aiding, abetting or causing attempted murder and aiding, abetting or causing grievous bodily harm. His bail is only $100,000 cash.

• 40-year-old Shannon Winters is charged with criminal recklessness and unlawful carrying of a handgun. He was arrested by Chicago police and is awaiting extradition to Indiana. His bail is just $15,000 cash.
