Police officer injured, driver arrested after patrol car crashes on Mass Pike

A Massachusetts State Police patrol car was struck Monday evening while inside a road construction unit on the west side of the Mass Pike. According to state police, the trooper involved was taken to a local hospital with injuries sustained in the crash. Officers are investigating the accident. The other driver, 45-year-old Kimberly Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was arrested at the scene for OUI-alcohol. The patrol car, an unmarked sedan with its emergency lights on, sustained rear-end damage, while an SUV at the scene suffered severe front-end damage. The right lane and center lane were closed while officers investigated the crash. The crime scene has now been cleared up.

The right and middle lanes were closed while officers investigated the accident. The crime scene has now been cleared up.
