Felsmere returns 13 years later to join Gwen Stefani's team

At a historic moment for The voice In Season 26, an artist has returned to the stage after a 13-year hiatus, becoming the first contestant to return after previously joining a team. Felsmere, formerly known as Kelsey Rey, wowed viewers and judges alike during her recent performance of “Some Kind of Wonderful” on the September 30 episode, securing her spot on Gwen Stefani's team.

Felsmere initially took part in the first season of The voice under her real name Kelsey Rey, where she impressed judges Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera with her rendition of “American Boy.” At that time, she joined Team CeeLo, but left after the Battles. Thirteen years later, the 33-year-old returned with a new sound and new confidence, becoming the first artist to ever re-enter the competition after already being part of a team.

This unprecedented return sparked debate among fans, many of whom felt that a former team member would not be allowed to compete again. Typically, artists who fail the blind auditions are invited for another chance. However, Felsmere's return breaks the norm and highlights the evolving rules of the competition.

Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé both turned their chairs during Felsmere's performance, but that was it No doubt Singer who successfully accepted her into her team. Stefani's decision could be crucial as Felsmere's experience and growth over the years have made her a stronger competitor.

Speaking about her journey, Felsmere said: “Season 1 was the best experience of my life, but I was young and shy. I’m coming back with a new sound and hope the coaches like it.”

The voice continues to deliver surprises and Felsmere's return sets a new precedent, leaving fans excited to see what the rest of Season 26 will bring. Tune in The voice every Monday and Tuesday on NBC to see how this season unfolds.
