Newschecker noted that several users pointed out that the video was from 2020, well before the recent Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah targets.

We then conducted a reverse image search of the key images, which led us to this TikTok post from January 20, 2020, from a user “k.reem” who shared the same video, confirming that it predated Nasrallah's murder is.

Newchecker then looked up the profile and found that the user had posted a clarification about the viral video on September 29, 2024, saying: “My friends, be careful with all the fake posts… You have a very old one Video of me from 2020 was used,” claiming it shows me and my friends celebrating the assassination of a political figure. JUST FOR CLARIFICATION: The video is from the time of the Lebanese Revolution and I do not currently live in Lebanon.”

We learned that during Lebanon's months-long revolution in October 2019, tens of thousands of peaceful protesters took to the streets across the country, demanding their social and economic rights, accountability, an end to corruption and the resignation of all political representatives.

We also came across this Reuters fact check of the viral video, which confirms that it is from four years ago and has nothing to do with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
