Suspect arrested in New Market double murder

NEW MARKET, Md. – Authorities have arrested a Florida man in connection with the Aug. 25 murders of Crimea Malita Baker and Sean Antoine Lange in New Market. David Phillip Turner, 33, of Miami, was taken into custody Saturday by Fort Lauderdale police and the FBI in coordination with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

The arrest followed more than a month-long investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred at a residence on Mandalalong Court. Sheriff Chuck Jenkins praised the cooperation between law enforcement and the community, stating, “This investigation has been a priority of this office since the morning of the shootings.”

Officers responded to the home around 7 a.m. on Aug. 25 and discovered that Baker and Lange had been shot multiple times in an upstairs bedroom. Four children were also in the house but were uninjured.
