Frankie Valli speaks out after concert videos cause concern among fans

Frankie Valli spoke out after fans became concerned following viral social media clips of the singer's recent performances.

“I know there's been a lot of talk about me on the internet lately, so I wanted to clear things up. “I’m blessed to be 90 years old and still doing what I love to do, and as long as I’m able and the audience wants to see me, I’ll be out there performing like I always do,” Frankie said , 90, says People in a statement on Monday, September 30. “I absolutely love what I do. And I know we put on a great show because our fans still come out in droves and the show still rocks.”

He is currently on tour with the Four Seasons, with his next tour stop scheduled for October 11th at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

“How do we do the show?! The Four Seasons sound has always been about layering vocals and instruments,” Frankie continued. “We use our 60 years of experience to make us sound like the records. I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements. … everything. I have to laugh when I ask in the comments if anyone is forcing me to go on stage. No one has ever forced me to do anything I didn’t want to do.”

“I plan on doing shows and delivering the great Four Seasons sound for as long as I can,” he concluded. “Like that line in Jersey Boys, I’m like that bunny on TV that just keeps going and going and going. Chasing the music.”

In August, sources said Closer that Frankie pushed aside any concerns about his health as he vowed to continue performing.

“Frankie is enjoying his evening twilight as much as he can, as evidenced by his recent singing performance, and he is defiantly refusing to slow down and stop being active,” an insider said. “He knows he only has a few years left and is living on borrowed time, but he doesn't understand why he shouldn't go out there.”

“Loved ones note that it is sometimes a challenge for him to stay steady on his feet, but Frankie is still taking care of himself as best he can,” the source added. “His friends wish he would take it easy and fear the end is near, but Frankie doesn't want to be one of those sad old men who relies on walkers or carers. In his heart he feels like a young man, even though in reality his body is giving up on him.”

Last month, videos of Frankie's performances went viral on social media, including performances of “December 1963 (Oh What a Night)” and “Bye, Bye, Baby (Baby, Goodbye).” After the hustle and bustle surrounding the performances, rockers Lenny Kravitz shared a selfie with the “Sherry” singer on Instagram.

“I just met the legendary Frankie Valli at the airport. Nothing but respect for you, sir. Endless hits and still touring at the age of 90. Love!” Lenny captioned the September post.
