“American Pickers” star Frank Fritz has died

(KWQC) – Frank Fritz, best known as part of the original duo American Pickers, has died.

According to a close family friend, Fritz died peacefully Monday evening in Davenport surrounded by friends, including “American Pickers” co-star Mike Wolfe, who traveled from Tennessee to be there.

In an Instagram post, co-star Mike Wolfe shared the following:

“Frank died last night. I have [known] Frank for more [than] Half of my life and what you saw on TV was always what I saw: a dreamer as sensitive as he was funny. Just like behind the camera, Frank had the opportunity to reach the hearts of so many people just by being himself.”

“American Pickers” debuted on the History Channel in 2010. The pickers Fritz and Wolfe visited old barns looking for collectibles or interesting knick-knacks.

American Pickers owns three stores to display their picks, located in LeClaire, Iowa.
