West Orange resident accused of stealing wallet from Livingston store

LIVINGSTON, NJ – Livingston police have arrested a West Orange teenager after she allegedly stole a wallet and used the credit cards at a local store, authorities said Tuesday.

According to Livingston Police, officers responded to the UPS store at 184 Livingston Avenue at 10:40 a.m. on September 26 after receiving a report of a stolen wallet.

The victim told officers she left her wallet on a table and later discovered it was missing. Surveillance footage confirmed the wallet was stolen from the table, authorities said.

Police identified the suspect as a 19-year-old West Orange resident and arrested her. She was charged with theft of movable property in connection with the Sept. 26 incident.

The Livingston Detective Bureau conducted a follow-up investigation and determined that the suspect had used the victim's credit cards three times. Police also charged her with three counts of using a stolen credit card.
