Weather in Metro Detroit: There could be some rain starting in October

Happy first day of October everyone! We officially end September with just 1.22 inches of rain, a deficit of 2 inches. This makes us the 20th driest September on record, with records going back to 1894.

As we begin a brand new month, we will see some changes in our forecast. A cold front will move through between 2pm and 7pm today, increasing the chance of scattered showers and even an isolated thunderstorm. Severe weather is unlikely, but we could hear a few rumbles of thunder.

High temperatures will reach 76° today, but remain behind the cold front.

Overnight temperatures will drop to a cool 49 degrees. This will make it a little chilly on Wednesday morning when we wake up and go outside. Some sunshine and clear skies will help us warm to 68° by Wednesday.

Drier weather will end the week as we return to the low 70s on Thursday and Friday. The next chance of rain is on Sunday.
