Two dead in multi-vehicle crash near Nelson, Wisconsin

NELSON, Wisc. (KTTC) – On Friday, September 27, Mark Holzer, 59, of Rochester, MN, and Brian Shank, 59, of Chatfield, MN, were killed in a crash involving a truck and three motorcycles.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, near the community of Nelson.

A pickup truck was traveling north on State Highway 35 in Wisconsin when it crossed the center line and struck three motorcyclists in the oncoming lane.

Holzer and Shank both died at the scene of the accident. The third motorcyclist, a 69-year-old from Rushford, was treated for minor injuries. The truck driver remained uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office and the Buffalo County Coroners Office.
