Man indicted by grand jury after Eastgate Loop murder in April

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A man has been charged following a murder on Eastgate Loop in April 2024.

Investigators determined that 28-year-old Ja'Darius Conyers was one of three suspects who shot Johnny McNabb on Eastgate Loop.

Court documents obtained by News 12 say Conyers and two suspects set fire to the vehicle they drove to the scene.

Conyers was indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and arson of personal property.

Conyers was arrested last week.

One of the two suspects was not named in the indictment.

The other suspect, Tyrick Johnson, died in June 2024.

A woman was also charged with aiding and abetting the suspects from the burning vehicle.
