Suspect in the capital city of Selma murder was caught after years on the run

A Selma man wanted for murder for more than three years is now in custody.

U.S. Marshals captured 22-year-old Kristopher Deon Stubbs in Montgomery, Dallas County District Attorney Robert Turner said.

He is charged with murder in the July 24, 2021, shooting death of 21-year-old Keterione Goldsby at a Selma intersection.

The shooting happened just before 7:30 a.m. this Saturday.

Selma Police responded to the intersection of Minter Avenue and Lauderdale Street for a report of a shooting and traffic collision.

When they arrived, they found Goldsby's Honda Accord had crashed into a stop sign and a utility pole before overturning.

Goldsby died in his car from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators quickly identified Stubbs as a suspect. He has been searched for ever since.

Stubbs made his first court appearance Monday before Dallas County Judge Collins Pettaway. He remains held without bond.

Attorneys Maston Evans and Tacara Sabir have been appointed to represent Stubbs.
