Hanna Cavinder lashes out at trolls in heated tirade: “Grow up”

Hanna Cavinder was thrilled.

The Miami Hurricanes guard lashed out at internet trolls on Monday, saying she's sick of people posting negative comments about people's looks and weight.

“Okay, I'm just going to get this out of the way because this shit is literally heating me up and annoying me so much when it comes to social media and today's society,” Cavinder, 23, said in one two days later TikTok video Your friend, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, and the No. 2 Bulldogs lost to No. 4 Alabama 41-34 on Saturday.

“I don’t understand why viewers or fans or whatever find satisfaction in commenting on a person’s or athlete’s appearance on social media — or upsetting them and thinking it’s just OK to comment on how they look , attacking them and crying them down as if these people weren't human.

“It's truly disgusting these days how society can simply turn a blind eye to other people's comments about what a person looks like online. And it's just disgusting that everyone gets satisfaction from humiliating someone because of their appearance.

“It just doesn’t suit me. It makes me sick that people would just go out of their way to comment on someone's appearance anonymously or literally without a burner account and say, “Oh, that person is ugly,” or comment on someone's weight – whatever whatever it is.

“I mean, I get this all the time and I think it's absolutely ridiculous how people can put in so much effort. And it just fires me up, so I'm going to go ahead here and tell you: If you have something unkind to say to a person, maybe keep your mouth shut and don't say a word because it's affecting other people's lives. We are all human and we all look at our comments. Grow up.

“And who raised these people is my question. I would never have the courage to comment on social media about what a woman or a man looks like and be okay with myself… I don't understand how you were raised to do that and feel okay about that as a human being to human.

“I think it’s sick and I’m going to choose to rant about it today. But anyway, I hope you have a nice Monday… because if people were to make comments about you and your looks, how would that make you feel every day?”

She captioned her post, “Quick rant 4 yall.”
