Davante Adams has not spoken to Raiders' Pierce since his IG activity

Davante Adams said he hasn't spoken to Antonio Pierce since a social media account associated with the Las Vegas Raiders coach liked a post wondering if the star wide receiver was celebrating his last loss to the team played.

Adams, appearing on “The Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams” on Tuesday, was asked about the verified account associated with Pierce liking the Sports Illustrated Instagram post. The Pierce account's like has since been removed from the SI post.

“I haven't heard from him. I haven’t spoken to him,” Davante Adams said when asked if he had heard from Pierce. “…Social media is a beast, so a lot of people out there saw it and wondered what was going on and reached out.”

Davante Adams told Kay Adams that many people think his last loss came with the Raiders, saying, “All I can control is this conversation we're having here and when we're done with it, can “I control everything.” is the next thing I plan to do.

Adams missed the Raiders' Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury he suffered in practice on Thursday. The injury will likely keep him sidelined week-to-week, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter over the weekend.

Adams said Tuesday that he's “trying to get healthy and doing everything I can to stay on top of it because the worst thing you can do, especially in a situation like a hammy, is try to close it down.” force yourself to get out there and stick it out for the long haul.” Harm from trying to be greedy and not understanding the process. It's not fun at all not being out there, but I think my teammates will appreciate it more in the long run.

The Raiders' win over the Browns came a week after Pierce told reporters following an embarrassing home loss to the Carolina Panthers that he believes “there were definitely some individuals who made business decisions, and we will continue to make business decisions.” Pierce apologized for those comments on Sunday.

However, his original comments led to speculation that the Raiders would consider trading Adams, but that's not an option right now – and wasn't last summer either.

The Raiders turned down several teams that reached out to them over the summer asking if Adams would be available for a trade, league sources told Schefter over the weekend. The Raiders viewed an Adams trade as a non-starter and turned down at least two teams before an offer could even be made, the sources told Schefter.

There has been ongoing speculation that the New York Jets would be interested in trading Adams to reunite him with Aaron Rodgers, his longtime quarterback with the Green Bay Packers. There was also speculation that the Kansas City Chiefs might target Adams after Rashee Rice suffered a knee injury last Sunday.

Adams said Tuesday that the constant trade rumors were “annoying.”

“It will definitely be annoying, but I'm one of those players that people like to talk about in one way or another. “Thank God he blessed me with the ability to just focus on what I need to focus on and not let the outside noise distract you,” he said.

He added: “You know, it's just kind of a weekly 'What's wrong with Tae?' thing. There is always some kind of drama. At the end of the day, 17 doesn't create any of that, so people can say whatever they want, but I just relax and try to be the example of not fussing and just going with it and doing what I do must.”

Adams caused a stir in the Raiders building this offseason with several of his comments on the Netflix series Receivers.

During a halftime break in a Week 6 game against the New England Patriots, a game in which Adams was repeatedly hit, Adams said, “I've got to get out of here before I lose my f—.” I was still in my life never met so often.

While the comments themselves attracted attention, the fact that Adams, as a willing participant in the series, allowed them to be published caused a stir.

“I've seen parts of it, but there's nothing to talk about,” Pierce said at the start of training camp. “Davante signed up for the show, things were said and shown and it is what it is. You can’t erase it.”

Adams then missed the final two weeks of camp to return home for the birth of his son. And after Adams said he would prefer not to play in the preseason and Pierce said all starters would suit up for the Raiders' exhibition finals, Adams was “sore” after suffering an “uncomfortable movement” in practice that had pushed him to the sidelines.
