19-year-old arrested for murder of Virginia Beach man

A man was arrested and charged with the murder of another man in Virginia Beach on Monday morning.

According to police, Virginia Beach police officers responded to the 600 block of Fox Creek Court around 9:40 a.m. for a report of a gunshot wound.

Officers found 20-year-old Keshawn Woodhouse of Virginia Beach at the scene and he was pronounced dead.

According to police, 19-year-old Javon Pollard of Portsmouth fled after the shooting in a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Lynbrook Landing and Baker Road in Virginia Beach. According to police, Pollard's vehicle was tracked to Portsmouth using Flock's license plate reader cameras.

Pollard is charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a firearm, attempted robbery and hit-and-run. He was also served with independent warrants from Newport News and Portsmouth.
