BG police use pepper spray to break up fight and disperse crowd; Man arrested for assault – BG Independent News

A Bowling Green man was arrested Sunday (9/29) for alleged assault outside a bar in the 300 block of East Wooster Street.

Bowling Green police were standing outside the closed bar around 2:17 a.m. advising people to leave the parking lot when they saw a fight between two people. An estimated 30 to 50 people were around the fight, some trying to document the incident and others trying to help the two perpetrators.

Officials issued several orders to stop the fighting and encourage people to disperse from the area. An officer used pepper spray to get people involved in the altercation to stop.

One of the people involved in the fight, 21-year-old Braydon Skalku, reportedly continued to attack the other person and resisted officers who tried to get him to stop.

The Bowling Green Fire Department was called to transport Skalku to the hospital for a headache. After being released from the hospital, Skalku was taken to the Wood County Jail. According to the police report, Skalku repeatedly threatened to kill the officer who was transporting him.

Skalku was charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
