Mayor Eric Adams Spotted in The Notorious BIG's “Juicy” Music Video

Eric Adams' connections to hip-hop and its stars remain a hot topic, with the mayor of New York City making an unintentional cameo in a Biggie Smalls music video thirty years ago.

A social media post pointing to an Eric Adams campaign poster in the visual for The Notorious BIG's 1994 single “Juicy” recently resurfaced amid the federal investigation into Adams' 2020 campaign.

The post created by New York Times The reporter Jesse Drucker on

The screenshot, taken from the 1:38 timestamp of the music video, shows the poster of Adams sporting a thick head of hair and a mustache. The poster promoting Adams' bid for a congressional seat in New York's 11th District is displayed on the traffic light pole, where a muscular man performs pull-ups during the scene.

Adams ultimately failed in this particular campaign, losing to incumbent Major Owens after failing to obtain enough valid signatures to officially enter the election.

Adams' billboard sighting in the “Juicy” music video took on even greater significance because the mayor was linked to Sean “Diddy” Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, the label to which The Notorious BIG was signed and to which “Juicy” was published the time.

In 2023, Adams awarded Combs a key to New York City, a move that proves ironic given their respective legal troubles with the federal government.

Last month, Adams was indicted by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on bribery, campaign finance and conspiracy charges. Just weeks earlier, Combs was charged with, among other things, racketeering and sex trafficking.

Combs has since returned his key to the city, but maintains his innocence in the face of the allegations against him.
