Who is Brittnee Dancho? Important update on the disappearance of a Maryland woman

Maryland police announced that a missing woman has been found, days after unconfirmed news of her disappearance spread online.

Brittnee Dancho is a 33-year-old mother of three, according to a flyer posted Sept. 29 on the Missing People in America Facebook page.

According to various social media posts, Dancho, who was pictured with long brown hair and appeared to be wearing scrubs, went missing in Salisbury, Maryland on September 25 after leaving a disturbing message.

Rose also posted a picture of a note she said was written by Dancho that read, “Please tell them I love them. I fed the cat and dog. I love you all.” There are also different numbers on it.

The alleged note has not been confirmed by authorities and the flyer was not created by Maryland State Police.

A spokesperson for the Maryland Department of State Police told Newsweek via email, “The Maryland Department of State Police has not issued any press releases or created any fliers regarding this missing persons case.”

Nevertheless, the case attracted attention on social media. News of the disappearance was posted on Facebook, X and YouTube.

A YouTube account, Gray Hughes Investigates, posted two videos about Dancho, among other cases he covers.

According to authorities, Brittnee Dancho is no longer missing

Missing People in America published that Dancho was found on September 29th. The Facebook post received 2,500 likes and the comments section is filled with over 800 comments celebrating her safe return.

When reached by phone, a member of the Maryland State Police confirmed this Newsweek that Dancho had been found living across state lines in Virginia.

However, the department spokesperson said Newsweek that they had nothing to do with the Missing People in America posts on Dancho.

“While the Maryland Department of State Police is working with outside organizations to spread the word. However, as far as I know, we have not been contacted, nor has this organization contacted us, seeking information regarding this particular case,” they said.

Missing People in America is an independent organization. The Facebook page states: “Our mission is to use technology to reunite missing people with their loved ones and work to combat the pervasive problem of enforced disappearances.”

They were contacted for comment via their Facebook page.

This was announced by the Maryland State Police Newsweek that there are no persons of interest in the case and that the case is now closed.
