APD is searching for a man accused of attacking an elderly victim in North Austin

The Austin Police Department (APD) is asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of assaulting an elderly man.

Police said the suspect hit an elderly man at the Central Market at 4001 North Lamar Blvd on Sept. 11 around 6:16 p.m. have addressed. The suspect then aggressively pushed the man to the ground and then pushed him two more times after the victim got up.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 35-45 years old, approximately 5'7″ to 6'2″ tall, with long black hair and a full beard.

Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. There may be a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
