Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams reportedly told the team on Tuesday that he preferred to be traded Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo from NFL Network, although “nothing is imminent” at the moment.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders want a package that includes a second-round pick in exchange for the wideout:

Adams didn't exactly deny that his time in Las Vegas might come to an end during an appearance in US Magazine Up & Adams Broadcast on Tuesday:

Adams did not play for the Raiders in Week 4 due to a hamstring injury, and trade rumors heated up on Monday after head coach Antonio Pierce appeared to like a post on social media that said Adams may have played his last down for Las Vegas .

Adams said he hadn't heard from Pierce after Pierce allegedly liked this post:

“Honestly, it’s hard to comment on this,” he noted. “You could imagine it like that. It's one of those situations where I keep my head down and keep doing my thing and let things fall where they may. There has been no communication with anyone on the team since then.” But it's a bit like the weekly “What's wrong with Tae?” thing. There is always some kind of drama.

Then earlier on Tuesday, Vincent Bonsignore des Las Vegas Review Journal reported that the Raiders “became more open” to the idea of trading Adams and “began contacting teams to gauge interest in the veteran wide receiver.”

Schefter's report that followed seemed to confirm this, as did other reports making the rounds:

The Raiders' plan was always to address Davante Adams' situation closer to the trade deadline, but that has now been accelerated. https://t.co/ntujHq48Ez

Adams, 31, remains one of the better receivers in football with 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown in three games this season. The six-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro selection eclipsed 1,000 yards and 100 receiving yards in five of the six seasons through 2024 and scored double-digit touchdowns six times in his career.

Any number of teams could look to improve their receiving core with Adams. The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled with serious injuries at the position, although it's hard to imagine the Raiders giving up Adams to a division rival.

A reunion with Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets or Derek Carr with the New Orleans Saints could also make sense, while the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers face short-handed teams that could end up being contenders.

Ultimately, a team's salary cap and the assets it wants to part with also play a big role in whether it enters the Adams sweepstakes. But it looks like Adams will be suiting up for a new team soon.
