Reward increased for unsolved murder of mother and daughter

The reward has been increased for information that could lead to an arrest in the unsolved 2017 murder of a mother and daughter in North Lauderdale.

The Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) said the murders of mother and daughter – 48-year-old Temeco Williams and 15-year-old Jada Allen – have long remained unsolved. Seven years later, the Broward Crime Stoppers reward increased to $10,000.

The sheriff's office said homicide investigators are confident an increased reward will uncover long-sought information that will lead to an arrest in the case.

Williams and Allen were found shot to death in their North Lauderdale home at 5:25 a.m. on January 28, 2017. The sheriff's office said two other children who were in the home at the time of the killings were uninjured.

BSO investigators and family members believe the killer knew Williams and Allen. Likewise, the division of the family home, as there were no signs of forced entry into the house.

“This was a very cold-blooded crime,” said BSO Cold Case Detective Zack Scott. “At least it wasn't a robbery, it didn't have any of the characteristics that would lead one to suspect. They were sleeping in their bed and someone decided to go into someone else's house knowing those people were there, killed two of those people and then left.”

Williams' sister Nicole pleaded with the public to come forward if they knew anything about the murders of her family members.

“No one deserves what my sister and niece got. And you know, some people are in the wrong place at the wrong time. But they were in their home. They were sleeping. Who could harm you in this place back then? “So why would you go into her house and hurt her and our family?” Nicole said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Det. Zack Scott at 954-321-4214. If you would like to remain anonymous, please call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
