Eddie Lacy was charged with extreme drunk driving after his arrest in Arizona

Former Alabama and NFL running back Eddie Lacy spent Monday night in the Scottsdale City Jail after being arrested in Arizona. TMZ Sports reported that Lacy was charged with four counts of drunken driving, including extreme drunken driving, following a traffic stop Monday night in Arizona.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, a person with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent or higher is considered extremely drunk driving.

Drivers found guilty of extreme drunk driving “shall be incarcerated for at least 30 consecutive days without eligibility for probation or parole and fined at least $2,500 for a first offense.” The driver must also submit to a Take a breathalyzer test, undergo education or treatment, perform community service, and equip vehicles with a certified ignition interlock device.

Lacy was stopped by Scottsdale City Police at 10:40 p.m. MST on Monday. TMZ Sports reported that Lacy's charges included “alcohol – possession of an open container in vehicle.”
