Washoe County man arrested in drug trafficking investigation

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A man is in custody following a months-long investigation into drug sales in Washoe County.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office said its Narcotics Task Force arrested 29-year-old Pablo Doval-Avalos on Monday. During the investigation, authorities said they found 58 pounds of methamphetamine, 1 pound of heroin, 3,500 fentanyl pills and two firearms. In total, they estimated the value of the seized narcotics at more than $850,000.

Doval-Avalos was transported to the Washoe County Detention Center. He is accused of several charges including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (42+ grams)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance (400+ grams)
  • Selling and transporting a controlled substance
  • Possession with Intent to Sell a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
