Israeli police said at least six people were killed in a shooting attack in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening. Twelve people were also injured in the shooting.

According to police, two suspects opened fire on a boulevard in the Jaffa district of southern Tel Aviv. The two suspects were killed.

The attack came moments before a massive attack Missile fire from Iran sent people to bomb shelters across Israel, including Tel Aviv.

The Israeli emergency service MDA said on Tuesday that it received a report of people injured by gunfire at 7:01 p.m.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed “condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attack in Jaffa and extends my best wishes for a full recovery to those injured” in his remarks on the Iranian missile attack.

The shooting occurred shortly before Iran fired rockets at Israel in response the killings of Iranian-backed militant leaders; The rocket attack sent Israelis into shelters and raised alarm across the region.

Sullivan said Iran fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at targets in Israel. He said American naval destroyers along with Israel “fired interceptors to shoot down incoming missiles.”

After about an hour, the Israeli military announced that there was no longer a threat and “it was decided that it is now allowed to leave protected areas in all areas of the country” after a “large number” of Iranian missiles were intercepted.

U.S. and Israeli officials said there were no reports of Israeli civilian casualties.

The explosions of Iranian missile fire came just hours after a senior White House official told CBS News that the U.S. had “indications that Iran is preparing to launch an imminent ballistic missile attack against Israel.”

This warning, which the Israeli military said was delivered from Washington, came after Israel announced the start of “limited, localized and… targeted ground attacks“against the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah in Lebanon.
