More details emerge in murder investigation after body found on Highway 51

Court records show the victim was accused of molesting a boy in 2015, but was never charged with a crime.

BATON ROUGE, La. – We're learning more about the 69-year-old Baton Rouge therapist found dead in Tangipahoa Parish.

On Sunday, the body of William Nicholas Abraham was found wrapped in a tarp and dumped along US Highway 51.

Court records show Abraham was accused of molesting a boy in 2015 but was never charged with a crime.

WWL Louisiana pressed Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore about what happened to the 2015 arrest.

Moore declined an interview, but Assistant District Attorney Tracey Barbera said, quote, “After considering all available evidence, the best interests of the child and the lack of incriminating statements from the arrestee, we declined to file formal charges.”

Attorney Craig Mordock is not involved in the case but says the prosecutor's decision not to proceed to trial was likely due to a lack of evidence.

“The district attorney must determine whether he can prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt to secure a conviction,” said attorney Craig Mordock. “They didn’t believe that if they presented the entire case to the jury they would get a conviction.”

On Monday, authorities released images of a person last seen behind the wheel of Abraham's vehicle.

According to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office detectives, Abraham's vehicle was found in Baton Rouge that afternoon. The driver, who is the person seen in the surveillance camera screenshots below, sped away from a traffic stop and eventually fled after crashing the car.
