VIDEO: No idea? Just ask

President Armacost and guest Beth Valentine invite the campus to “Just Ask: Accessibility and Disability at UND.” on October 14th and 15th

In this week's video message, President Andrew Armacost helps promote an upcoming two-day education and awareness event – an event that is free for all to attend.

He will be joined by Beth Valentine, Equity Compliance and Education Manager, to discuss “Just Ask: Accessibility and Disability at UND,” which will take place October 14-15 in the Memorial Union and is available virtually via Zoom.

Registration is required for virtual access and is recommended for those planning to attend on campus, Valentine says.

The Just Ask conference takes place during Disability Employment Awareness Month and features panels on how to have conversations about disability. Navigating AND with a Disability; and the future of accessibility, says Valentine.

There will also be three keynote speakers on campus during the event. Information about these speakers, as well as a complete schedule and link to register, can be found on the UND website.

Armacost asks Valentine about the work she and her colleagues do at UND.

Just Ask was developed by the university's Campus Accessibility Working Group, a coalition of faculty, staff and students who come together to discuss topics such as improving physical and digital accessibility on campus and to train staff on the topic.

Armacost says he is proud of the CAWG members who have found ways for all of us to better express respect and treat one another with dignity, and he calls on the UND community to be an example of how others should be treated .

“This is another example of how UND leads and how we do things that benefit the world and each other,” Armacost said.
