A man accused of a crime hides in another person's house; arrested after hours of negotiations

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A man accused of felony meth trafficking was arrested Tuesday after hiding in another person's home for several hours.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, officers went to a home on Farmington Street around 11 a.m. to serve an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Anthony L. Turner.

Turner was wanted on a warrant out of Graves Circuit Court that revoked his bond for, among other things, prior meth trafficking and possession of firearms by a felon.

However, when officers arrived, Turner refused to leave the home, sending messages saying he was armed and threatening to use a firearm.

Police officers then reportedly surrounded the home to prevent Turner from escaping.

After hours of attempted negotiations, the Graves and McCracken Co. Sheriff's Offices managed to make contact with Turner, who ultimately decided to leave the home and turn himself in to officers around 3:20 p.m

No one was injured, but Turner was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and later released.

He was then transported to a detention center outside the county.

In addition to his arrest warrant, Turner was also charged with resisting arrest and first-degree trespassing. The home where Turner was held did not belong to him and he did not have permission from the homeowner to be there, according to the sheriff's office.

A nearby school was notified of law enforcement activity in the area.

The Graves Co. Sheriff's Office was assisted by the McCracken Co. Sheriff's Office SWAT/Negotiation Teams.
