Former Churchill High School teacher arrested for alleged 'inappropriate relationship' with student

CASTLE HILLS, Texas – A former Churchill High School teacher has been arrested after he was accused of having an “inappropriate relationship” with a 15-year-old student.

Castle Hills police confirmed they are investigating reports of an alleged “inappropriate relationship” that has existed between the former educator and a student since November 2023.

The former teacher was identified as 36-year-old John Grist and police were able to obtain a warrant and arrest him.

North East ISD released a statement saying it first became aware of the allegations in June and immediately launched an investigation, while Grist resigned.

Castle Hills police said the victim's parents would cooperate with investigators, adding that they would reach out to the families of any other potential victims.
