Clues that could have helped solve the Texas Killing Fields murders in an all-new episode of “The Evidence Room.”

HOUSTON – A western shirt, cut fingernails – remnants are missing. They are just a few of the seemingly small clues that could have solved dozens of murders in the now infamous “Texas Killing Fields” cases.

Instead, they became obstacles to the investigation.

“It's frustrating as a family,” said Shirley Love, sister-in-law of victim Audrey Cook. “It won’t bring them back, it will just make someone pay for what they did.”

Cook, Heide Villareal Fye, Donna Prudhomme and Laura Miller were among at least 30 people found dead over the years in the same swampy stretch of I-45 between Harris and Galveston County – the perfect place to kill someone and to get away scot-free.

On Wednesday, in an all-new episode of the KPRC 2 Investigates true crime documentary series “The Evidence Room,” we take you inside the cases that have haunted our collective memory for 40 years to uncover the stumbling blocks that kept their families from getting closure to become .

And for the first time, in an exclusive on-camera interview, you'll hear from a man who remains the prime suspect in the murders.
