PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) – A Plymouth man has been formally charged with the murder of his 73-year-old father, District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced yesterday.

A grand jury returned an indictment against 26-year-old Matthew Paluzzi, charging him with murder.

According to officials, on August 15, Plymouth Police received a 911 call from a person stating that a man was unresponsive and bleeding from a laceration on his neck.

The caller told police the victim was covered in blood and that a kitchen knife was near the front door.

Emergency responders responded and found the man dead.

He was identified as Anthony Paluzzi.

Police then filed a report for Paluzzi's son Matthew and his motor vehicle.

A motorist identified the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated.

Paluzzi was taken into custody with apparent blood stains on his clothing, and a swab of his hands revealed the presence of blood.

Paluzzi is currently being held without bail and will be arraigned at a later date, according to officials.
