Pro-Iranian social media accounts circulated a video purporting to show Netanyahu running in a bunker. “Moments when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flees to a bunker in the face of Iranian reaction,” one post reads. Other posts went further, mocking the Israeli leader and accusing him of abandoning his people during the crisis.
Despite the viral narrative, the video in question appears to have no connection to recent events. Fact-checkers pointed out that the clip, which has resurfaced on platforms like Facebook, is from 2021. It supposedly shows Netanyahu in the halls of KnessetIsrael's parliament instead of running to safety during the recent rocket attack.

In response to the attack, Netanyahu remained defiant, calling the attack “a big mistake” on Iran's part and vowing retaliation. “Iran made a big mistake tonight and will pay for it,” he said. “Whoever attacks us, we attack them.”
Tuesday's rocket fire marks the second such direct confrontation between the two nations this year, with the previous attack in April quickly neutralized by Israeli defenses. Iranian officials have claimed this latest attack was in response to the deaths of high-ranking figures Hezbollah and Hamas leaders Hassan Nasrallah and Ismail Haniyeh in Israeli military operations.
