The final suspect in the 2023 double murder is convicted

The third and final suspect charged in the 2023 shooting deaths of Breanna Don Dapron, 20, and Dylan Wayne George, 31, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole by a Lane County Circuit Court judge after He pleaded guilty to murder in September.

On January 19, 2023, the Eugene Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a home on West 18th Avenue, where officers learned that both victims were struck by bullets fired through their living room window. George died at the scene, while Dapron later succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Police said at the time that they believed it was a targeted incident.

After an investigation, police arrested 26-year-old Vaughn Pierre Derry Jr., who was later charged with four counts of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery; Dejuan Debrail Stevens, 25, who was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery; and Mridul Raghav, 23, who was charged with second-degree robbery and attempted first-degree robbery.
