CJ Gardner-Johnson Darius Slay Micah Parsons Beef Social

And as if on cue, the cryptic social media messages arrive.

CJ Gardner-Johnson posted the message “Damn…” on his Instagram Story on Tuesday morning, apparently responding to his backfield colleague Darius Slay's appearance on Dallas Cowboys defensive player Micah Parsons' podcast.

A clip of Slay and Parsons laughing while discussing Parsons' argument with CJGJ went viral on X Monday night.

Last week, Parsons took issue with Gardner-Johnson calling out Saints QB and his former teammate Derek Carr after the Eagles went on the road and beat the Saints in New Orleans.

“I don’t know who CJ Gardner-Johnson thinks he is, bro,” Parsons said on his podcast last week. “We have been dealing with this cat for some time. I think Derek Carr validated himself a lot before CJ – in the most respectful way. Derek Carr was one of the highest paid quarterbacks, let’s be honest.”

CJGJ replied Parsons to X.

“Eight brings the noise, eight brings the energy, eight brings all the nonsense that half the team doesn’t do,” Slay said of Gardner-Johnson on the Parsons podcast yesterday. “So he fills that need for us…You're going to talk, you're going to have to back it up at some point. And if you don't know, he knows for sure that the media will pick it up, will get all the attention and he'll have to be ready to answer every time.

All of this came on the heels of an ugly 33-16 loss by the Eagles to the Bucs in which they missed 15 tackles. Gardner-Johnson missed two of four tackles, while Slay continues to struggle this season, having given up the third-highest passer rating allowed.
