The colors of the Pixel 9a include purple, the phone is slightly larger

Following render leaks that revealed the design yesterday, another Pixel 9a leak reveals the dimensions of Google's upcoming mid-range device, as well as the four colors it could come in.

Accordingly Android HeadlinesGoogle will slightly adjust the size of the Pixel 9a. The updated device will be slightly taller and slightly wider, but also slightly thinner at 8.6mm. Compared to the 8a's dimensions of 152.1 x 72.7 x 8.9mm, the Pixel 9a apparently measures 154 x 73 x 8.6mm.

These dimensions shouldn't mean much to the screen size, although theoretically it could be slightly larger. The size of the battery is likely to be more affected by the smaller size, although the additional height and width could help reduce any battery limitations.

More interesting from this report are the colors of the Pixel 9a, which will include four options. In addition to the typical “Obsidian” and “Porcelain” colors that make up the black and white options, the Pixel 9a is also said to get a “Peony” pink color, similar to the Pixel 9's pink option, in addition to ” Iris” add color that is described as “bluish-purple.”

Google hasn't made a purple phone since 2019's Pixel 3a, which even then was – intentionally – barely purple in its “purple” color (pictured above).

Pixel 9a is expected to launch sometime in 2025 and is the first of five new smartphones from Google scheduled to launch next year.
