'Delhi-NCR people are annoying': Manali woman's viral rant against tourists on holiday | On trend

In a viral video, a woman can be heard criticizing people from Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, accusing them of speeding while driving in the hills and treating locals badly while vacationing in the hill state.

“I am sorry to say but the people of Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Haryana are very annoying. They cause a lot of pollution Woman who does not identify herself during an undated street interview for a local news channel in Chandigarh.

She adds that her hometown is near Manali and when she travels home, she makes sure to drive safely as the roads in the hills are treacherous even for locals. “They don’t know how to maneuver their cars in the hills and corners.

“Often our cattle and animals are found dead on the side of the road due to such rash drivers,” she added.

She also said such motorists increase noise pollution in the area by playing loud music in their cars while driving. “I understand that you are here to relax and have fun during your vacation, but there must be a sense of responsibility towards the locals and their culture,” she said.

How the internet reacted

The video, which received over 94,000 views in two days, divided the internet. While some people agree with the harassment caused by such tourists, many others have criticized the woman's statements and termed them discriminatory.

“She talks about the college students who come there on weekends to drink and party. Families coming from Punjab and Haryana are of course decent,” a user clarified.

“What she says is not wrong, even I saw the same thing in the mountains,” read another comment.

“Himachalis have no problems with people from Haryana, Delhi or Punjab, but they certainly have problems with the acts they commit in Himachal,” one comment said.

“I'm from Delhi and I'm Punjabi but I didn't take offense at anything she said,” a third user commented.

“Yes. She makes sensible comments,” said another in agreement.
