All four occupants died at the scene of the two-vehicle collision north of Adrian

Adrian Twp., MI – All four people involved in a two-vehicle crash in Adrian Township Tuesday night died at the scene. The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office reports officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Tipton Highway and Shepherd Road around 6:43 p.m.

Officers said a 2019 Silver Chevy Traverse was parked on Tipton Hwy. was traveling southbound and was driven by an 83-year-old man from Adrian, whose vehicle also contained his 79-year-old wife and 52-year-old daughter. A black 2020 Jeep Cherokee was traveling westbound on Shepherd Road and was driven by a 51-year-old Clayton man.

Officials report the driver of the Jeep failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Tipton Hwy, striking the silver Chevy Traverse on the driver's side of the vehicle. Both vehicles left the southwest corner of the intersection and came to rest in a field. All occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident and it is believed all occupants were wearing seatbelts. The next of kin of all those involved have been notified. The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene of the accident, which remains under investigation.

The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Tecumseh Police Department, Adrian Twp Fire Department, Madison Twp Police Department and Raisin Twp Police Department.
