Free Fight – Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson vs. Kevin Holland

There have been few fighters in UFC history comparable to Stephen Thompson.

The two-time UFC welterweight title contender, now 41, has been fighting near the top of the 170-pound division for more than a decade, and in that time has enjoyed some of the most spectacular moments we've ever seen in the cage – including impressive finishes against players like Robert Whittaker and Johny Hendricks as well as decision victories over fighters of the caliber of Jorge Masvidal, Rory MacDonald, Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal.

A loss to undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov in December 2023 in his last fight likely ended any ambitions of claiming undisputed UFC welterweight gold, but it certainly didn't do that to his appetite for the competition and the UFC's preliminary round unveiled this weekend tarnished 307 event from Salt Lake City, Utah, Thompson will face the dangerous Joaquin Buckley; a fighter in the midst of a four-fight winning streak.
