Police almost reported a murder case: Did this now-viral local TikToker find a body buried in her yard?

Typically, local content creator Katie Santry's videos centered around motherhood, parenthood, and family life. Until one day they weren't anymore.

Santry, whose TikTok username is @Katiesantry, recently went viral on the platform with a series of videos documenting her family's discovery of a menacing buried rug in their yard. Police, ghosts and possibly buried bodies follow.

According to Santry, it all started when she and her husband planned to build a new fence in their yard.

“I absolutely didn’t expect it to go viral,” Santry said with a laugh.

On Monday, she called the police, who came to her home to take a look at the buried carpet. According to the local content creator, “They were almost talking about murder; They also find it very, very strange.”

She told 614Now Police said they did not have the resources to dig up the carpet themselves, but they hoped a local construction company would be willing to help with the excavation.

“Now we're trying to figure out how to get this carpet out of the ground. We’re determined to get this rug out and see what’s going on,” she said. “The police said we can dig and if we find anything they will come back.”

Additionally, Santry reported strange, unexplained things happening around her house after discovering the buried item and openly wondered on TikTok if her house was now haunted.

“My laptop dies in the middle of the night…The Apple guy says it looked like he was elbowed or punched…The…” [sunroom] “The door was closed and the laptop was in the room closest to the hole,” she said. “I thought, ‘Oh my God. What the hell happened?'”
