Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 looks to be another milestone in the series with a cinematic campaign and robust multiplayer mode. As if that weren't enough, there's a surprise coming after the game's release: a fan-favorite map may be making an exciting comeback.

There's a lot to rave about with this new entry, and the current multiplayer beta has received tons of praise from those who have played it. Everything about the returning Zombies mode looks high quality too, with a new map reportedly leaked for the first season.

Does Black Ops 6 bring back this iconic map?

Forward Leaks tweeted that Nuketown's current setup “will receive multiple variants throughout its lifecycle,” suggesting that the classic version could appear in Black Ops 6. Treyarch and Activision Blizzard have not confirmed this detail, but it wouldn't be surprising since this is a live service title.

What's interesting is the fact that this version of Nuketown will have multiple variants, as the map can change depending on circumstances. It makes sense to have different holiday-themed versions of the area, although fans want a return to the original map. With fan interest in the game at an all-time high, bringing back the nostalgic map with multiple iterations is a given.

In addition to the classic version of the legendary BLoPS map, we could see the return of Nuketown 2025 or even the tiny Nukehouse from Black Ops Declassified. Now that would be hilarious.

Youtuber Espresso also thinks a return to the original Nuketown is likely, as every entry in the Black Ops series contains a version of the map. The YouTuber points out that the original version of the map can be seen in the background of the official Black Ops 6 images, although it is not officially part of the map list. Only time will tell if fans will be able to visit this map, but there's always a chance.

Call of Duty is always adding new maps

Hypothetically speaking, even if Black Ops 6 doesn't bring back the original Nuketown, fans can expect more maps to be added to the game after release. The focus of this series has always been multiplayer, so adding maps post-launch is more than just a reasonable request from fans.

New maps have already been added during the multiplayer beta, so the base game should get even more after launch. Traversing the same areas in these entries can get boring after months of intense shooting, so constantly adding new maps will help. Considering how much Activision is pushing Battle Passes and Season Passes, new levels are just part of what's to come.
