19-year-old accused of stealing his sister's car used in the shooting and shooting with an MPD officer

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police arrested a man in connection with a shooting in Frayser and an officer-involved shooting on August 12.

Roger Allen, 19, is charged with aggravated robbery and receiving stolen property.

Officers located Allen at an apartment complex on Tuesday and after an altercation, police arrested him.

He was given a $40,000 bond.

Records show he was released on his own recognizance (ROR) following his arrests in May and July.

According to MPD, an officer on routine patrol witnessed a shooting outside the EZ Express at the intersection of Frayser Boulevard and Mountain Terrace Street at 4:41 p.m.

The next day, Allen's sister reported that her white Ford Fusion was missing from his girlfriend's house.

Before the shooting, a man was in the gas station parking lot when four men confronted him.

One of the men pointed a gun at him and told him not to move or they would shoot.

Another suspect took the victim's gun while all four suspects pointed their guns at him.

The suspects also took his iPhone 11 and Apple Watch.

The gas station security guard came out and told the suspects to leave the victim alone.

However, the suspects ignored him, causing the security guard to get his gun.

After the security guard threatened to shoot, the suspects scattered and ran toward a white Ford Fusion.

According to the affidavit, the victim told police he walked to his car and began shooting at the suspects.

The security guard told police that two suspects also fired shots from the vehicle.

A police officer witnessed the shooting and initiated a traffic stop as the suspects drove away.

During a police chase, officers fired his weapon.
