School bus aide arrested and charged in York County

According to the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office, 75-year-old Cynthia Diana Greasley was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

YORK COUNTY, Va. – A former school bus aide at Mount Vernon Elementary School in York County has been arrested and charged with assault on a child, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office.

On Monday, the sheriff's office received information from school administrators that 75-year-old Cynthia Diana Greasley had assaulted a six-year-old student with disabilities on a school bus.

Greasley allegedly boarded a school bus that had arrived at the school and dragged the child from the back of the bus down the hallway before pushing him off the bus toward a waiting teacher.

The sheriff's office said Greasley is no longer an employee of the York County School Division. She is charged with assault and battery.
