Make a viral “Dirty Soda” at home while SodaStream is on sale

Forget cocktails. It's the era of “dirty lemonade” and brands like SodaStream are living for it.

With Amazon Prime Day falling right at the start of “Sober October,” shoppers are already racing to get their hands on the currently discounted SodaStream E-TERRA, the popular beverage machine that's been blowing up thanks to a number of TikTokers, including some Mormon ones mothers.

“We don't drink alcohol or do drugs, so that's kind of our vice,” reality star Demi Engemann admitted in the promo clip for “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which aired Sept. 6 on Hulu.

The Utah young mothers group is part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While the church strongly discourages the use of caffeine, alcohol and drugs, many members are particularly obsessed with over-the-top soda recipes.

In the show, the mothers visited Swig, a popular chain in the western United States. It is called the home of dirty lemonade, or carbonated drinks that combine sugary syrups with cream and ice. A bit like a mocktail but served in a cup size comparable to a Venti-Starbucks drink.

The lemonade shop received celebrity endorsement several years ago when singer Olivia Rodrigo was caught posing with a sippy cup in her hand. But now everyone on TikTok wants to make their own dirty lemonade from home and is posting videos of their recipes — some of them using the coveted SodaStream, one of the top kitchen gadgets on Amazon.

SodaStream provides fresh sparkling water with three preset carbonation levels to choose from at the touch of a button. The brand offers a variety of lemonade flavors such as lime and cherry, as well as newly released, non-alcoholic craft cocktail mixers for aspiring mixologists.

Tiktokers love them and shoppers swear these drink machines save time and money.

Amazon

The best-selling SodaStream E-TERRA Sparkling Water Maker Bundle is currently 34% off on Amazon ahead of Prime Day – although it's unclear how long the offer will last given the growing popularity of the dirty soda trend.

In the review, buyers called their SodaStreams a “game-changer” and said the small devices were a smart investment for anyone who goes through multiple packs of soda every week. Some even claimed that SodaStream helped them lose weight by replacing regular bottled water with regular drinks.
