A man was arrested in northeast Lincoln after holding his victim at gunpoint, according to police

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after police said he held a person hostage in northeast Lincoln.

Lincoln police responded to a call shortly after 8:15 a.m. regarding a suicidal person at a home near 50th Street and Walker Avenue

Arriving officers determined that the incident was actually a hostage situation in which 20-year-old Brendan Wubbels had held a victim at gunpoint, police said.

Police contacted Wubbels outside the building and took him into custody without incident. According to police, officers also found a handgun on the ground outside.

Wubbels was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.

He remains held at the Lancaster County Jail.
