Dallas Cowboys sign defensive end from Cincinnati Bengals practice squad

The Dallas Cowboys have expanded their defense.

With both Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence sidelined by injuries sustained in last week's win over the New York Giants, the Cowboys have elevated defensive end KJ Henry to the active roster from the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad the team known. The deal is reportedly expected to last two years.

To make room for Henry on the 53-man roster, Lawrence was placed on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.

Henry was a 2023 fifth-round draft pick out of Clemson, taken 137th overall by the Washington Commanders. He was released from his rookie contract before the start of the 2024 season.

Cincinnati claimed him off waivers and used him on a limited basis the first two weeks of the season. He hasn't appeared in a game since Sept. 15, after the Bengals waived him before re-signing him to their practice squad.

Henry appeared to confirm the news on Tuesday morning by posting a series of cowboy emojis on his X account.

In 12 career games between Washington and Cincinnati, Henry has 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
