The case of Cohasset resident Brian Walshe, who is charged with the murder of his wife Ana in early 2023, returned to Norfolk Superior Court today (October 2).

His appearance came shortly after his attorney, Larry Tipton, asked for a continuance until Dec. 2 to allow time to review a large amount of information he received “yesterday and today” from the commonwealth related to the case .

Judge Beverly Cannone agreed to the continuance after prosecutors raised no objections.

Walshe, 49, was arrested following an intensive investigation by the Cohasset Police Department and Massachusetts State Police after Ana, 39, disappeared in the early morning hours of January 2, 2023.

In March 2023, a grand jury indicted Walshe on charges including murder, misleading police investigation/obstruction of justice and improper transfer of a human body. He is being held without bail.

Walshe is also accused of using his son's iPad to Google the best ways to dispose of a body, among other searches.

Further details about the case can be found at

Walshe — who previously pleaded guilty to wire fraud and selling fake Andy Warhol artwork to a Los Angeles art dealer — was sentenced last February to 37 months in prison and three years of supervised release. According to published reports, he was also ordered to pay $475,000 in restitution. Walshe's attorney appealed that ruling in this unrelated case.
