UPDATE: Second arrest in Chestnut Street shooting

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A second arrest has been made following a report of shots fired over the weekend on Chestnut Street.

According to Bowling Green police, 18-year-old Tanner May of Bowling Green was taken into custody on Tuesday.

The police said they had previously arrested a 17-year-old man for his involvement.

The arrests are the result of a report of shots fired on September 28 in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street.

According to police, May is accused of firing multiple shots from a semi-automatic rifle, with most of those shots hitting a nearby home unrelated to the disturbance.

May is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment – discharge of a firearm.

The investigation is still ongoing. Police believe additional charges could be filed as more information becomes available.
