Police officers have made an arrest after a woman was shot in the face in Philadelphia on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at approximately 10:53 a.m. when police responded to a call of a person with a weapon along the 3400 block of North 21st Street.

Officers responding to the scene found a 32-year-old woman who had been shot in the right side of her face, officials said.

Police officials said the woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was in critical condition.

According to police, a weapon was also recovered during this incident and an arrest was made. However, as of approximately 12:45 p.m., officers have not provided any further identifying information about the person arrested in this incident.

The investigation is still ongoing, the police said.
