Family members are charged with murder in connection with the 2010 Toledo attack

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Lucas County grand jury on Wednesday indicted three people on murder charges stemming from a years-long case.

The grand jury indicted Ruben Lopez, Ruben A. Lopez and Michael Lopez on Sept. 2 on murder charges.

Police affidavits said she was involved in an assault in November 2010 that left Dewayne Arnold in critical condition at the time. It happened on November 2, 2010 in the parking lot at Starr and E. Broadway in Toledo.

The Lucas County coroner's ruling, reported in the Blade in February, shows that Arnold died last July as a result of blunt force head injuries. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.

The Blade reported at the time that Ruben A. Lopez was the father of Ruben and Michael Lopez. The three were previously charged in 2010 with nearly beating Arnold to death after police said Arnold appeared to urinate on their vehicle.
