Villa and West Ham are keeping an eye on the Valencia star

Aston Villa and West Ham United are both locked in a fierce battle for the services of Valencia's young striker Hugo Duro. Caught offside understands.

Both Premier League clubs have been impressed by the Spanish striker's talents and are keen to add him to their squads in the near future.

Aston Villa believe Duro can add dynamism and youth to their attacking line, sources close to the situation say Caught offside that coach Unai Emery is confident that Duro's style of play will adapt well to the Premier League and that he can make a significant contribution to the team's scoring output.

There is talk of Duro forming a strong partnership with Ollie Watkins at Villa Park, with some questions remaining as to whether or not Jhon Duran will remain at Villa Park long-term, with clubs continuing to show interest in the Colombia international Regular playing time at the Midlands club is still not fully guaranteed.

Duro transfer: Could West Ham or Aston Villa sign the Valencia striker?

Meanwhile, West Ham United are also making serious moves to sign Duro. Manager Julen Lopetegui is understood to see Duro's energy and goalscoring ability as a major potential asset to the Hammers' attack.

It's been a poor start to the season for Lopetegui's West Ham, so it's safe to assume there could be scope to further strengthen the squad at the next opportunity.

Given Duro's potential and recent performances, it is likely that Valencia are seeking a transfer fee in the region of €25-30 million.
